September 16 is the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, established by the United Nations to commemorate the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987. According to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, as the largest developing country, China has always strictly fulfilled its international commitments. To date, it has eliminated approximately 628,000 tons of ozone-depleting substances in production and use, accounting for more than half of the total eliminated by developing countries.

On September 19, the third China-Japan policy dialogue on carbon emission reduction was successfully held. Both sides agreed to make good use of the China-Japan Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection Comprehensive Forum and the carbon emission reduction policy dialogue cooperation and communication platform to further deepen pragmatic cooperation and expand multi-level exchanges.
